
Krakow Opera Orchestra
It has existed for over 60 years, taking part in opera performances and concerts of its parentinstitution. A constantly developing team, versatile and ready to take on various artistic challenges. Especially in recent years, critics and reviewers have been paying attention to its development. The orchestra performed at many national festivals – the Festival. Stanisław Moniuszko in Kudowa-Zdrój, Bydgoszcz Opera Festival, Festival of Jan Kiepura in Krynica-Zdrój and abroad – the Opera Festival and Competition in Szeged (Hungary), the Slovak Zámocké hry zvolenské Festival and the Opera Festival in Kuwait. He is also a regular guest of the International Festival and Competition. Ada Sari in Nowy Sącz and the Festival. Adam Didur in Sanok. The band’s credits include, among others: a DVD recording of the world premiere of the play Loteria na mężów, czyli narzeczony nr 69 (“The Lottery for Husbands, or Fiancé No. 69”) by Karol Szymanowski under the musical direction of Piotr Sułkowski (2007) and DVD recordings of two concerts from the Arias of World Opera series, organized annually during the Summer Festival of the Krakow Opera, both under the direction of Łukasz Borowicz. Recently, the Orchestra, conducted by Tomasz Tokarczyk, recorded two CDs for the Dux label – the concert Per due donne performed by Katarzyna Oleś-Blacha and Monika Korybalska and the concert performance of Stanisław Moniuszko’s opera Beata (2019).
