Andrzej Lampert

Born in Chorzów in 1981. Soloist of the Silesian Opera in Bytom. Graduate of the Faculty of Jazz and Popular Music of the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice (class of prof. dr hab. Renata Danel) and with distinction from the Vocal and Acting Department of the Academy of Music in Kraków (class of ad. II degree of Janusz Borowicz). Scholarship holder of the Minister of Culture and Art.

Since 2011, he has been studying in Vienna with prof. Helena Łazarska, under whose vocal supervision he remained until 2022 and has repeatedly participated in her master classes in Salzburg, Klagenfurt and Kraków.

Winner of competitions, among others: the 3rd Ignacy Jan Paderewski Vocal Competition in Bydgoszcz, the 15th International Ada Sari Vocal Art Competition in Nowy Sącz and the 15th International Vocal Competition of Imrich Godin Iuventus Canti in Vráblach.

In 2010, he made his debut on the stage of the Silesian Opera in Bytom as Alfred in Verdi’s La Traviata. In 2013, he played the role of Lensky in Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin, being already a soloist at the Kraków Opera, where he performed for the first time as Pinkerton (Madame Butterfly by Puccini), and then as: Nemorino (L’elisir d’amore by Donizetti), Barinkay (The Gypsy Baron by J. Strauss), Paris (Beautiful Helena by Offenbach), Walther (Tannhäuser by Wagner), Don Narciso (The Turk in Italy by Rossini), Ernest (Donizetti’s Don Pasquale), Riccardo Percy (Anna Bolena by G. Dionizetti) and Rydygier/Skald (Wanda Wnuk-Nazarowa). In addition, he has performed on Polish opera stages as Nadir (Bizet’s The Pearl Fishers), Romeo (Gounod’s Romeo and Juliet), Ruggero (Puccini’s The Swallow) and Shepherd (Szymanowski’s King Roger). In 2014, he was Alfred in the premiere and series of performances of La Traviata at the National Opera in Montpellier in France, and a year later he sang the part of Tamino in Mozart’s The Magic Flute at the opera house in Baden.

He has also performed a number of concerts, mainly solo parts in St. Matthew Passion (Vienna, 2014) and Bach’s St. John Passion (Salzburg, 2015). In addition, as the “Preisträger” of the International Summer Academy of the Mozarteum University in Salzburg, he performed during the Salzburger Festspiele (2013). He received invitations to participate in opera performances, as well as vocal-instrumental projects in Canada, the USA, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Sweden, Portugal, France, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Ukraine, Estonia, Lithuania, and Greece.

He took part in numerous recordings, incl. the premiere recording of Stanisław Moniuszko’s opera Paria with the Choir and Orchestra of the Opera at the Castle in Szczecin, Rossini’s Petite messe solennelle with the National Philharmonic, Karol Szymanowski’s Symphony III with the NOSPR, Stanisław Moniuszko’s Mass (D minor, E flat major, D flat major) with the Polish Radio Orchestra, and Krzysztof Herdzin’s Requiem with the Polish Radio Orchestra and the National Philharmonic Choir.

In 2020, for the album of Karol Szymanowski: Hagith with the Polish Radio Orchestra under the direction of Director Michał Klauza, as a soloist (alongside Wioletta Chodowicz, Ryszard Minkiewicz, Dariusz Maciej and Łukasz Rosiak) he received the Fryderyk award in the category Album of the Year – Oratorio and Opera Music.

In 2017, he was the laureate of the 11th Jan Kiepura Theatre Music Awards in the category “Best Opera Singer”. In 2018, he received the Zbigniew Gruca Award of the Theatre Journal and the Golden Mask for the vocal and acting role of Romeo in the opera Romeo and Juliet by Charles Gounod at the Silesian Opera.

In 2020 (alongside Placido Domingo) he received the Austrian music award in Salzburg in the category “Best Young Talent” for the role of the Shepherd in the opera King Roger by Karol Szymanowski performed at the Graz Opera.

During concert and phonographic productions, incl. for Polish Radio and Television, he collaborated with many performers of popular music, most notably with the PIN band, which (alongside Aleksander Woźniak and Sebastian Kowol) he co-created from the very beginning.

In a duet with Sarah Brightman he recorded the song “I Will Be with You”, which was released on the European edition of the album Symphony.

He is the winner of the popular television program “Chance for a success” by Elżbieta Skrętkowska in the 90s. Performer of the theme song for the TVN series Nanny. He also recorded a version of the song Route 66 for the Polish language version of the animated film Cars. In a duet with Hania Stach he recorded the songs – “My Music this is You” and “You have faith in yourself” as the soundtrack for the films from the High School Musical series in the Polish language version, and also dubbed the character of Troy Bolton in this production.
